Big Jay McNeely drives the crowd wild

Los Angeles - 1951

Big Jay stood in the center of what was usually a boxing ring at the Olympic Auditorium, playing his heart out as the crowd went wild. Bob scrambled to get his gear out, fearing he’d miss this moment, but Big Jay was a marathon player -  for 45 minutes, he played on, strutting around the stage. He knelt, he sat, he laid on his back while playing into the faces of his audience as they screamed, “Go! Go! Go!”
