Virginia & Valeria by window

Rome - 1969

SOCIETY EXCLUSIVE

In 1957, Bob was having dinner in Rome when a little girl walked into the restaurant to get pasta for her family. “My God, there’s a Botticelli,” he thought. He asked her parents if he could photograph her. They agreed, and later that week he made the first images of a remarkable decades-spanning chronicle of Virginia’s life; a young girl growing up, becoming a woman, and later a mother. This image of Virginia and her daughter Valeria is part of this chronicle, taken in 1969.
