An invitation-only society offering a year-long, immersive experience for art lovers and collectors, centered around the photographic archive of Bob Willoughby.
Art & Legacy
The Willoughby Society is a private, invitation-only community for those passionate about preserving human-made art. As a member, you will embark on an exclusive, year-long journey through rare, archival-quality prints, curated collectibles, and unparalleled access to the works of Bob Willoughby, one of the most significant photographers of the 20th century.

What we do
Limited Edition Photography Prints
Every year, the Willoughby Society curates a themed collection of at least forty images from the estate archive—some famous, some rare, and some never-before-seen. These images are accompanied by the anecdotes and historical context of each photograph.
Investing in the Future of Art
A portion of membership dues fund our commitment to the future of human-made art through the Willoughby Scholars Program, providing mentorship and resources for promising young artists.
Collaboration with Artists
In our Through a Different Lens program, contemporary artists are invited to create new works inspired by our annual collections, in the spirit of artistic innovation. These new artworks are made available as limited edition prints.
Archive Preservation & Digitization
Society memberships directly support the crucial work of archive preservation, ensuring that Bob Willoughby’s original negatives and prints continue to be properly stored, serialized, digitized, and protected from deterioration.
